Abba Kyari Speaks Out After The Attack On Kuje Prison "It Is Only God That Saved Us"

The Suspended Nigerian Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari has recounted his experience during the assault on the Kuje Prison in Abuja, where he was kept.




The Guerillas who have now been revealed to be ISWAP, penetrated the Kuje prison on Tuesday night and liberated many prisoners including 64 Boko Haram members.


A jail source let SaharaReporters know that Kyari, who is being investigated for supposed drug dealing was subsequently moved to a protected zone by the specialists.


Vanguard reports that he shared his trial from his ongoing area and said that God saved him as well as other high profile prisoners like Farouk Lawan and Ex-governor of Taraba state, Jolly Nyame.


He said;

Only God saved us today (yesterday). For over two hours and 45 minutes, more than 300 terrorist took over the Kuje prison in Abuja with GPMGs, Bombs, RPGs, Many Rifles etc.


The total population of the Kuje Prison inmates is about 1,476, and only 111 of the inmates refused to escape and decided to remain in the prison as  90% disappeared.
