Tipper Crushed Dad Of 30 Kids With Passenger in Kogi State

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, said a dad of 30 kids was killed when a tipper crushed his bike in Lokoja, Kogi State.



Corps Commander Stephen Dawulung, Kogi FRSC Sector Commander, informed NAN in Lokoja on Monday, August 1.

The man, Abdulsalam Ibrahim, a 60-year old business motorcyclist and his passenger were killed by the tipper at Ganaja Junction in Lokoja.

"The occurrence was terrible and extremely awful," he said.

He lamented that the mishap cut off the existence of the provider of 30 kids.


"The mishap was an instance of a hit and run that when we answered the pain call, getting to the area, the driver and the tipper were mysteriously gone.


"Observers let us know that quickly the mishap occurred, the tipper driver zoomed off leaving the casualties' disfigured bodies for sympathizers" he said.


He said that officials kept the carcass of the man at the Morgue of Federal Medical Center, Lokoja, while that of the passenger was at Ankuri clinic funeral home, Lokoja.


Dawulung asked drivers to continuously notice security measures including speed limits.


Likewise talking on the mishap, Musa Baba-Aliyu, Chairman, Kogi Motorcycle Riders' Association, said that the departed rider was an indigene of Katsina and a bonifide individual from the association.


Mr Baba-Aliyu said that Ibrahim was attempting to try not to hit a business tricycle (Keke NAPEP) heading towards him from the other way, when the miserable occurrence took place.
